The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Fighters Table
From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, demons, and sinister influences growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to begin their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look mismatched, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the team knows exactly where to head next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise started the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the influential clan could enable the team access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in quest for Casimir.
